Was ist das Simple Past?
Das Simple Past beschreibt abgeschlossene Handlungen in der Vergangenheit — man sagt oder weiß, wann etwas passiert ist. Regelmäßige Verben bekommen die Endung -ed; unregelmäßige Verben haben eigene Formen (go → went, see → saw).
Die wichtigsten Regeln
- Regelmäßige Verben: Infinitiv + -ed — „work → worked“.
- Unregelmäßige Verben haben eigene Formen — „go → went“, „buy → bought“ (2. Spalte der Verbtabelle).
- Verneinung mit didn't + Infinitiv — „She didn't come.“
- Fragen mit did + Subjekt + Infinitiv — „Did you see it?“
- Signalwörter: yesterday, last week, in 2010, … ago, when.
Beispiele
- We visited Rome last summer.
- He didn't know the answer.
- Did they win the game?
