Was ist das Past Perfect?
Das Past Perfect ist die Vorvergangenheit: es zeigt, dass etwas vor einem anderen Ereignis in der Vergangenheit passiert ist. Das spätere Ereignis steht meist im Simple Past.
Die wichtigsten Regeln
- Bildung: had + past participle (3. Verbform) — für alle Personen gleich.
- Das frühere Ereignis steht im Past Perfect, das spätere im Simple Past.
- Signalwörter: before, after, already, when, by the time.
- Verneinung: hadn't + 3. Verbform.
