AReading: Welcome to the IT Department
Read the welcome email from the IT manager, then choose the correct answer for each question.

Welcome to the IT department! Here is a short introduction to our team so you know who does what.

Our department has three teams. The infrastructure team looks after the servers, the network and all company hardware. Anna, our system administrator, installs updates and manages user accounts. The development team writes and tests our internal software; most developers work flexible hours and often join meetings remotely. Finally, the support team runs the helpdesk. It opens at 7:30 because many colleagues in production start early.

As an apprentice, you rotate through all three teams during your first year. You start with support β€” answering the phone is the fastest way to learn our systems. Your mentor, Denis, sits at the desk opposite yours. He doesn't work on Fridays, so on that day you can ask Anna for help. We meet every Monday at 9:00 for a short team meeting in room 2.14. Welcome aboard! β€” Sabine, IT Manager
