My name is Lena and I am a second-year IT apprentice at a logistics company in Hamburg. My week is split between the office and vocational school: three days at work, two days in class.

At work, my main responsibility is first-level support. I answer tickets, reset passwords and help colleagues with hardware problems. My mentor, Tobias, checks my work and gives me feedback every Friday. Once a month I meet the other trainees to share what we have learned.

The first four months of my contract were a probation period. During that time, the company checked whether I was a good fit — and I checked whether the job was right for me!
