Interview Preparation

Read the text about preparing for a job interview, then answer the questions below by choosing the correct option.

Preparing well for a job interview can make the difference between getting the position and being rejected. The first step is to research the company. Find out what the company does, who its customers are, and what its values are. This shows the interviewer that you are genuinely interested in working there.

Next, think about your strengths and weaknesses. Interviewers often ask about these, so it is important to have honest answers ready. When talking about a weakness, always explain what you are doing to improve it. For example, you could say: "I sometimes find it difficult to delegate tasks, but I have been working on trusting my colleagues more."

Your body language also matters. Make eye contact, sit up straight, and give a firm handshake. Avoid crossing your arms, as this can make you look closed off or defensive. Dressing professionally is also essential — even if the company has a casual dress code, it is better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed for an interview.

Finally, prepare some questions to ask the interviewer. Asking thoughtful questions demonstrates that you are engaged and serious about the role. Good examples include: "What does a typical day look like in this position?" or "What opportunities are there for professional development?"
