My name is Lily and I am 12 years old. I go to Greenfield School in Manchester. It is a secondary school with about 900 students.
I get up at half past six every morning. I put on my school uniform — a white shirt, a blue and grey tie, grey trousers and a dark blue blazer. I also wear black shoes. We are not allowed to wear trainers at school.
School starts at quarter to nine. First, we go to our form room for registration. Our form tutor checks that everyone is there. On Mondays, we have assembly in the big hall.
My first lesson today is Maths. I like Maths, but my favourite subject is Art. After Maths, I have Science in the laboratory. We did an experiment with magnets today — it was really fun!
At half past ten, we have a twenty-minute break. I usually go outside with my friends and we eat a snack. Then I have two more lessons before lunch.
Lunch is at half past twelve. I eat in the canteen. Today I had fish and chips — a very British meal! Some students bring a packed lunch from home — usually a sandwich, some fruit and a drink.
After lunch, I have two more lessons. Today it was History and then PE. In PE, we played hockey on the school field. I scored a goal!
School finishes at three o'clock. After school, I go to Drama Club on Tuesdays and Football Club on Thursdays. Today is Wednesday, so I go straight home and do my homework.
