Advertisements are everywhere. Companies spend billions of dollars every year to 1 us to buy their products. A good advertisement grabs your 2 immediately, often with bright colours or a catchy 3.
Many adverts use famous people, or 4, because we tend to trust the products they recommend. Others make special 5, such as "buy one, get one free", to make us feel we are saving money.
Advertisers also know that words are powerful. Phrases like "brand 6" or "limited 7" make a product sound exciting and rare. Some adverts even make us feel that we 8 something we never wanted before. The next time you see an advert, ask yourself: is this information, or is someone trying to change my mind?
Advertisers use commands (imperatives) and strong adjectives to persuade us. Complete each slogan with the correct word.
